4th Grade Experience
I was invited to teach in 4th grade where I taught a two day lesson on Point of View. We discovered all 3 POVs and the difference between POV and Perspective.
The first day we watched the famous Pixar Short "For the Birds" and wrote to put words to the story. Students chose a POV and Perspective and did purposeful creative writing.
The second day we reviewed what we knew about POV using a cooperative learning strategy: Numbered Heads Together. Students then used their knowledge to create a Popplet Graphic Organizer to showcase information and more creative writing.

Fact & Opinions about Insects
Using Green Screen by DoInk App and a green pizza box with Starbucks straws, we created a green screen video! We combined the ELA focus of the week, Fact and Opinion, and the culmination of our Insect Unit.
Insect Life Cycle App
We worked in partners to put together the insect life cycle on this hands on app!

Media Elementary
During my learning with Media Elementary, I was able to conduct guided reading groups with 3rd and 4th grade. The groups included varying reading levels and special needs. In 3rd grade, groups focused mainly on fluency strategies and worked toward comprehension strategies. In 4th grade, we worked largely on non-fiction text and comprehension strategies.
I also worked with a one-on-one tutor student in the mornings who was in 4th grade. Together we read leveled texts and The One and Only Ivan.
