Serving the Community"When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others." - Chinese Proverb
As the benefactor of wonderful life experiences, I have found that giving what I have is the most worth while prospect. Volunteering with children is a passion of mine. The opportunities I have had with young children, diverse populations, and organizations have helped me to become a reflective, thoughtful educator. |
Student PSEA of WCU
In working with Student PSEA of WCU, I have had many opportunities to work and play with children. I enjoyed experiences with the Oscar Laskco YMCA helping with Family Fun Nights. I got to socialize and provide for families at the Ronald McDonald House. We were also able to build relationships with West Chester Area administrating in hosting Babysitting for the Kindergarten Presentation Night.
All of these experiences showed me the joy of children and how providing them with support and love makes huge strides in childrens' lives. |
Charles A. Melton Arts & Education Center
Working with the Melton Center has been, by far, the most valuable experience in helping me to become an educator.
My work with this community center includes:

Large Scale Community Service
Student PSEA and the Melton Center have both offered me opportunities to do community service on a larger scale.
With Student PSEA I have participated in Outreach to Teach 2014 & 2015. This event allowed a group of approx. 200 SPSEA members to beautify and refurbish schools in need in just One Day! With the Melton Center, I have not only participated in but also helped to coordinate and lead service events and large scale events with volunteers such as Community Day 2014 &2015. |
